the end

I just wanted to say that....I really enjoyed this class. It made me look at education in a different way. I wanted to say thanks to our professor, for modernizing our class as much as she has. She allowed us to express out opinions and feelings with judgment and completely confidential. Too bad I'm done this quarter, I would have really bwanted to take another class with her again.

Thanks Prof.

My Blogging Experience

i spent a lot of time reading through all the blogs and i must say i was fascinated by many. i like the alternative form of learning through writing and reading blogs. much can be expressed when you have some sort of anonymity, you don't feel like you're going to be judge because of your race or gender. you don't feel like you have to write for a certain audience, because you are really writing for yourself.....at least that's how i approached it. i loved the discussions we had in class and in cyberspace. they were never offending or threatening. the truth is i might never blog again in my life.....unless i have to repeat this class, but i can honestly say i have a different way of approaching a writing assignment. stay real people. peace.

blogging experience

my blogging experience was weird as first. i did not know what to write. but as i started to view other people's blog i found out that everyone just says what they think and that there is no right or wrong answer. its based on what you think and feel about issues. I found blogging interesting towards the end because it made me realize different perspectives besides my own.

Not my absolute....."FINAL MUSE"

This whole class has been a whole new experience for me. Never had I actually sat through a whole discussion about politics. I honestly usually just tune out the conversation. Its always been so boring to me. This class has helped me realize how important it is to be up to date in regards to all political information. I now know how important it is to have my own opinion. Especially when it comes to who I want the next president to be or which laws I want passed. I guess in some sense this has helped me, not define Who Am I? but began the process in figuring out who I am. I now more than ever believe that the decisions we make help define who we are. Our decisions or choices we make tell a little about what kind of person we are.

As for blogging, it has also been brand new to me. I imagine I've had the opportunity before, but never found it very important to express my opinion to people I don't know. Now I feel that sometimes there is things you just need to let out. In some sense that is what we do as bloggers, we just BLURT out whats at the top of our head. Its especially better when people don't know you. What I found most interesting is the things we "Blurt out" that may not mean much to us, can be of such huge significance to others. So I say, "Keep on blogging Peeps!"

A New Experience

This has been a unique experience for me before this class I wasn’t familiar with blogging, I still consider myself a rookie but I have tried something new and learned a new way to express myself and socialize with others. I t has been a learning experience and maybe later on in the future I may try it again

Functioning, Good Titles

These posts are so great! I wish everyone would go back and edit the "Final Muse" post and give yours a clear and electrifying title. With good titles, the "Blog Archive" on the right would function and we could look up each others' posts. I probably said to call them "Final Muse" - and now I wish I had a better way to search for my favorites or even my own. So if you can take a moment to click on "Edit Posts" find yours and electrify it!

Final Muse

Who Am I? Who Are We? I still have no idea? Have I came some what closer to figuring that out? sadly, NO! But I would like to take the time to say I have learned a lot having the opportunity to read and comment on other people's thought and opinions on a number of subjects. I never blogged before this quarter and I found it to be very interesting and very comforting to be able to write, and at times vent one's ideas and concerns without judgment. Will I continue to blog? Well I'm not sure but I will now have a very open mind to the whole idea of blogging.

Final thoughts- Awareness

The whole blogging experience was a success. It was a creative way to involved the class into communicating with each other. Not just in class but outside class we were all motivated to be involved in issues that affect us. The whole presidential campaign was very informative if it wasn't for the blogs I don't think most of us would had paid attention to the campaign. I personally have grown in the sense that being aware is part of being educated. We cannot come to school and not be aware of who is going run our country. We need to be educated but also informed in things that concerned us and others as well. Some issues might affect us directly than others but they all affect us one way or the other. We should continue to be more informed and not stop researching for the truth instead of just listening to what the media presents to us.
I wish you all good luck in finals and keep it up.
P.S. Don't forget to vote, every vote counts.

Last Post--Final Muse

It has taken me awhile to write my final muse, but alas, I was inspired yesterday when I attended an event hosted by Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (Women active in literature/writing and social change--MALCS). At this event there were three women collectives from In Lak Ech, which means you are my other me, a poetry and musical group focusing on empowering women to Mujeres Abriendo Caminos (women opening paths). A radio program started by a Guatemalan refugee focusing on the stories of immigrant women in Los Angeles with an emphasis on the importance of the women's movement. And finally Teatro M3 (read as M to the third power), a women's theater group with an emphasis on empowering and giving voice to third world women, Chicanas, Latinas, and other minority women. What struck me was how these women's collectives all had different ways of reaching out to their community and other communities either through music, poetry, radio, dance, theatrical performance, and internet. When starting to blog, I thought it was strange to connect with people whom I did not know over the internet with no physical interaction. However, once I was introduced to these women's collectives, blogging finally made sense to me. Everyone has a need to communicate and in order to raise awareness, whether it be on women's movements, social issues, or Clinton, Obama, and McCain, each one of us has to find a platform to do so. I truly believe that in order for people to gain awareness it has to be through communication. For this class, blogging is the way we informed one another and gained greater insight on issues we would not normally be aware of. While our blogging experiment was for the class itself, I like to see from the bigger picture--communication to create awareness, create a social consciousness, and hopefully to create social change.

Final Muse!!

I need to begin by saying that I honestly under estimted this blogging experience! Honestly, it has helped me get a better grip on the election and where each candidate states, it has better educated my understand on the election and how easy it is to obtain information! I think what I found the most profound was being able to engaging with other individuals with different/shared ideas. I has challenged my thinking and has helped me become a little more vocal about issues, not only here but outside of class too!!

Thanx bloggers & good job, many of the posts I encountered were very insightful & extremely informative!!
